Vance struggled a bit but still gave us a decent outing. He went 6 innings allowing 3 ERs with 5 Ks.

Chooch singled in Hunter in the 1st. Polly singled in Fontenot in the 2nd. Wigginton two run shot in the 3rd. Chooch solo shot in the 8th.

Papelbon made the 9th inning interesting but was able…

Best weekend of the year so far

Friday: Went to AC on Friday, hung out with a bunch of friends, got a ticket to see Metallica. Sat around til almost 1am to see Meruader, they stunk but it was still cool to hear songs off Master Killer

Saturday: witnessed Jim Thome make some MLB history in a drmatic walk off Phillies win with an old friend and saw a ton of friends at karaoke.

Today: headed back down to AC to see Best Coast, Sepultura and Metallica with friends. If I get beaten to death by an old metalhead or a tribal tattooed bro during “Sad But Tue”, I have no regrets

A rant about the Phillies

I just got home from one the most disappointing sporting events I have ever witnessed. I am a passionate fan of my city’s sports teams. I always have been, and I always will be. From 1994 to 2007 I agonized through 13 play off-less seasons.

Tonight, no one on this team except Roy Halladay and Ryan Madson get a pass. That was PATHETIC. This team wins a franchise record 102 games. The second best home record in baseball next to the Brewers. $100+ million dollar payroll. The pitching staff broke records. BUT THIS TEAM COULD NOT PRODUCE 1 RUN AT HOME TONIGHT.

46,000+ disappointed fans watched Roy Halladay go out there and pitch his heart out, and CARRY THIS TEAM, as he has the last 2 seasons, and the offense came up short.

Things to thinks about:

Jason Werth still holds the Phillies post season record for home runs with 12.

Ben Francisco had more home runs than Chase Utley this post season

Phillies trade for Hunter Pence at the trade dead line. Bats 5th to protect Howard, hits over .300 for the season but bats 3rd in the post season. No home runes.

Polanco, a career .302 average, has not been the same since he was hit on the elbow last season and is dropped to 7th in the order.

This team was built to win NOW. They traded away their farm system for Oswalt, Lee, Halladay and Pence. Howard received an outrageous contract, hit 33 home runs and 116 RBIS in what many consider to be a down season for him, but hits nder .120 with one 1 home run in the post season. This team has no youth to build around. All of our stars are 30+ and in the decline of their career.

The offense let Hallday down tonight. No excuses. It was pathetic.

J-Roll, Victorino, Halladay, Madson, thanks for showing up this October.

See ya J-Roll, Ibanez, Lidge, Blanton, (and probably) Madson next season.

I’m extremely unhappy and mad at this team and at the moment I have very few nice things to say. Everything that happened in those 102 REGULAR SEASON GAMES MEANS NOTHING IN THE POST SEASON. NOTHING.
